You don't have to remove the CD drive in order to install a second HD, there's room for it under the stock one.

I just discovered that! Would have saved me some time if I'd read the forum before I fiddled with it!

I managed to format my CF and boot up from with it!

Success!!!

Now on the SE/30s!
