I have just collected a PM 7600 tonight.
The ad was advertised as "free to collect locally" and it was just 5 minutes from home
Moreover, many items were included:
Scsi external HD
Scsi external Yamaha writer
Scsi Zip 100
Wacom board
Also included, all documentation and softs (Quark express including the dongle...) but not advertised... the PM has a Sonnet Crescendo G3 :beige:

Nice find. If you are lucky the same guy might have other items to get rid of later on.
Very nice, especially with the unexpected bonus!
Good conquest! Specially the unexpected bonuses, one can never have too many external HD's!
Yes, the guy said he will contact me soon as he have an Ibook G3 clam for meNice find. If you are lucky the same guy might have other items to get rid of later on.
Also included yesterday, a set of new rainbow stickers
Tested this afternoon, processor is a G3 350 Mhz, and the PM has 372 Mo of ram.
Anyone has ever tried to get Mac Os X on one of those?
Everything is working fine, two hard drives internally (1.2 and 2 Go) the external is 8 Go

I would not recommend OSX on anything pre B&W G3.
I did a number of years ago but I had 450mhz G3, 1.5 gb RAM, ATA133 card and I think a Radeon 7000 video card in a 9600. It was not great but acceptable. In your case I wouldn't consider it without at least first maxing out the RAM. Even then I'd only do it wit a 7600 for fun. G4s can often be had for $20 or even free.

I have a G4 Sonnet Crescendo somewhere for the 7600, so i can swap the G3 pretty easily.
Done on a Beige G3, Panther went smooth with the help of Xpostfacto.I would not recommend OSX on anything pre B&W G3.

Just looking at my box of bits, found a Formac Proformance III video card mint in box.
Will try this one on the 7600, the card seems suitable with Mac OS X (10.2) , and a little hack get it working with Panther:

If you have a video card that worked under Jaguar but now refuses to function under Panther, try the following ... booted from Panther, open the Terminal application and type in the following (you can cut and paste if you like): sudo nvram boot-args="romndrv=1"
Enter your admin password when requested. Reboot and your card will hopefully work. This has worked on older ATI, Formac and other cards that do not have the proper firmware. Saved me about $600 buying an SGI MultiLink adapter on eBay to get my Proformance 3 to work with an SGI 1600SW.
Hi,
Tested the ProFormance card, my LCD screen doesn't support the card >
and worse... the Crescendo G4 doesn't work either, whatever i do (i pressed the cuda several times to no avail)
Played a little bit with the PM, even managed to connect it to Internet and tried to post here, but IE 4.5 could not cope with it. (not surprising)
Managed to find some nice themes for Mac OS9 here http://bibule.free.fr/biboumac/ while i was looking for the Proformance driver, tested the Aqua and the Ibook clam theme, but returned soon at something usual.
