Well . . . the locked-up HDD has developed a very interesting click/clack/bonk of death! }
I'm sitting here listening to its death song, every once in a while it sounds like it's accessing on all cylinders and then it groans and goes back to . . .
Cool! it just dropped dead and took the 1400 down with it . . .

OK, it starts back up . . . death sounds starting up, but now it's making noises like it's booting up while the Floppy Icon is still flashin' the ??????????
it's definitely deader-n-a-doornail, no matter how many moans and groans it puts out. I'm tired of listening to the death rattle so I'm not pushing the power button again.
Anybody feel like predicting which brand of HDD just died before I rip it outta' this 'Book?
