Weather was finally clear yesterday, so the wife and I went out and perused the local yard sales. Pretty slim pickings, but at our first stop I made my "catch of the day" - a fairly clean Newton 120 in a nice leather(ish) pouch, with the original manual, a Newton fax-modem in the slot, and a set of (possibly original) Ni-Cad rechargeable batteries. There were two guys running the sale - I asked the first how much he'd be asking, and he said "I dunno - maybe $30?" I must have made a sour face, because he called out to the other guy running the sale, "Hey Walt, how much for that old Newton thing?" and Walt replied "How 'bout $10"

I got it home and popped in some fresh AA's - she fired right up, and booted to a passcode screen. I was hoping to poke around and see what apps might have been installed, but with no passcode I'll just have to wipe it and start fresh. Oh well - I probably would've been doing that anyway, to protect whatever personal info "Scott" (the previous owner, as indicated by the boot screen) may have left behind.

Anyway, not a bad find for $10! As I've already got a nicely-upgraded 2100, I'm not sure I'll be keeping this one or offering it up to the Nerd Gods on the altar of eBay.
