Not really. The citywide median price on a free-standing house & yard was around $120k, IIRC - as opposed to the half-mil and up it sits on these days. I had been discussing co-investing in real estate with my Dad at the time, and we'd gotten to a seeming impasse on differences of opinion on how to go about it. I didn't feel up to approaching him on the subject again at the time
