Studer-card Hardware 7 posts May 27, 2012 — May 28, 2012
Some new conquests:

2 x Macintosh IIci (for parts) - one OK PSU, both motherboards had few broken SIM-slots. Gave them to a friend for projects/parts. Kept the loose SIM and HDD's.

1 x Macintosh display card (no attached RAM)

1 x Studer display (?)-card -- what is this?

1 x External SCSI CD-ROM drive, looks like AppleCD 600e but is not. Possibly Pro-Akai (no labels of brand).

1 x Apple ethernet card

2 x Sets of complete System 7 installation disks

Anyone, what is this Studer card used for? Could not find the specs. Never heard of this brand.

The Studer card was part of one of the first DAWs. The Studer Dyaxis.

You can read more about it on the link below:

The card is useless without the rest of the system but there is still a market for these should you want to sell it. MagicSound still runs a support business for these systems and i know they're always looking to buy parts.

Thanks for the info! Now i recall the guy i got the card from (it was inside on of the IIci's i got) had somekind of recording studio (still has) but he wanted to get rid of the older stuff he had.

Asked the Magicsounds if they would be interested.

If somebody elese is interested the card, let me know. I have no use for it. Open for trades as well.

Great find, just having mentioned the card here may bring you some offers. I had a couple of offers to buy one of the cards I mentioned here about ten years ago. Luckily, I resisted the offers, as now it has sentimental value for me.

Check back with the music man, he may be looking to unload the rest of the system. But it's probably more likely that he's got a PCI card for it mow.

Some images of the CD-ROM drive as well. Looks almost identical to AppleCD drives. Somehow i can't get hold of Apple-branded external CD-ROM drive no matter what LOL I guess i need to hack the Apple CD SC case fit with the regular trayloading Apple CD-ROM drive.

Looks very much alike:

Would make sense as it came from a audio studio of some sort.

great find anyway, congrats :)

I'm somewhat amused by the prototyping area at the far end of the card. Must be for future upgrades :)
