I plan on finding some SDRAM modules and hope to pump it up to the full 1gb if possible

Imacs are pretty finicky with SDRAM modules, won't probably accept most PC ones.

For now I've decided to stick with a couple of machines that, to me, represent the spirit of the Macintosh.

Congrats for the Imac, i agree with you my first machine was a Classic and the second one a G3 Imac (Indigo)
