Although, you could bring it entirely into an Apple Store and innocently ask how can you put Mountain Lion on it. "I heard it had come out recently and would like to upgrade, I have a Mac right here, is it possible?" Don't act like you know that the 68030 is like, eight or ten generations behind a current machine, instead insist that it's all the same and a Mac is a Mac right? Even better is if you pull up a phoney custom printed newspaper that looks totally legit out of the New York Times business section that says you can do it.
I'd totally do that if I had a Macintosh Portable with no backlight. It'd make for a good Aussie "The Chasers" skit.
