I got this almost mint in the box at the Amiga club meeting for free. What a prize. I Already got it over a month ago but I couldn't find any batteries for it so I bought some today. ere are some of the raw photos I took with it today:
Man oh man, that is awesome!
This is bringing back so many memories of the first Olympus my dad brought home a little after the Quicktake came out. Those pictures are ridiculous when compared to what a common mobile phone can accomplish, but not without their own distinct charm.
You ever wonder if years from now people will use older digital cameras to evoke a certain era or style of composition?

If I ever see that in the hands of a hipster I'll do my public duty and -- you can't say that here --.You ever wonder if years from now people will use older digital cameras to evoke a certain era or style of composition?
After upgrading to a Canon D30 myself the picture noise you have is terrifying.
Yeh, it would be funny to see some of the popular iOS apps like Camera+ or Instagram add a "QuickTake" filter. As if I don't feel old enough as it is. The other day I was sorting through some old photos when my 8 year old happened upon a stack of 35 mm negatives. He asked me what they were. Jeez. I had to explain to him that "back in the day", we didn't have digital cameras and then went on to explain what negatives were.
Imagining the QuickTake "look" being considered a vintage effect isn't helping me feel any younger.

I have a request!
Can you take a picture of a nice twilight hour pink skyline and post it for me? I think it would make a resolution and period appropriate desktop picture for my PPC. Plus I want to post it on my twitter feed, instagram, facebook, myspace, trendy coffeeshop, etc.
Damn there's no PPC smiley. I'll have to use some kind of synthesis.

My son is almost seven, not so long ago we explained to him that, when we were kids, television was Black & white only, computers were not usual, video games simply not available and mobile phones just a dream.I had to explain to him that "back in the day", we didn't have digital cameras and then went on to explain what negatives were.
He was just amazed
I was going through a box with my 13-year old and came across a transistor radio. She could not get her head around the idea of it being a radio and had even more trouble understanding where the knobs were (thumb nobs in the side). Sigh.
I'll try , I'm not really a big photography maker/fan but I just love the form factor of the Quicktake 150, so I can't guarantee I'll make a succesfull picture!I have a request!

These are perfect! Thank you very much.
I was of course kidding about distributing these, but if I ever feel the desire do I have your permission?

Not too long ago, about a year ago....I guess the twins were 7 too... they spotted my Star Wars VHS trilogy up on the shelf. They're huge fans of Star Wars, but they've only ever seen DVDs. I replaced all our VHS tapes with DVDs when they were toddlers. I kept the Star Wars ones because I figured they'd be collectible. Anyway, I brought it down from the shelf and showed it to them. The faces they made were classic. Similar to the face my son made when I showed him we used to only have 1 color....green:

Not so long ago i was playing with old computers, a friend of my son came home, he looked at the mess and asked:
"what is that little square black thing ?" my son replied " are you an idiot, it's a floppy disk !! " i just smiled

You'd be surprised, I've met people even in their early 20's who have never used a floppy disk before.
sweet, so this is the image quality I'll be looking forward to with the one I picked up not too long ago... the PB180 is running so I have something to put the software on(assuming it'll run on that?) even better I still have my B&W quickcam. Owned from new, used it to video chat with my parents when I went to college using CU-SeeMe via my Powerbook 160 (parents were using a PB 540c)
Edit: note, before the quicktake even came out I had already gotten to play with a 4MP camera (Leaf DCB I).
