Micromac Speedy Accelerator
I see the Micromac website is still being hosted, with these accelerators still listed for sale. Anyone know if they're really still selling old stock?
Also, can someone familiar with the MT version of the Soeedy accelerator (for mac iisi, iifx, quadra 700/950) tell me the frequency range provided? The webpage says over 50mhz for the iifx, which means at least 100mhz oscillator, but need to know how much higher it can go.

No. Micromac be long dead and gone.
This is not entirely accurate. Because the Micromac website was still being hosted at http://www.micromac.com/products/speedy.htmlNo. Micromac be long dead and gone.
I tried calling the 949 phone # on the site. A German-sounding man answered the phone, and when I asked if this was Micromac, he said "yes, but technically we are now Macupgradespecialist.com with some Micromac stock left". I asked if he had any Speedy accelerators left, and he said he did not, but he said he thinks he had some SIMMDoubler left for the IIfx. As for other Micromac stock (not for IIfx) he said he has another accelerator that starts with a "D" (forgot the model).
Good to know, thanks for clarifying. It would be interesting to know what they have sitting on the shelves... and you know, now that I've thought about it, I vaguely remember someone here calling up and getting some sort of expansion kit for one of the Mac's, but the details escape me.
I think we bought up the last of the Micromac stock not too long ago. Hans Strupat is the current owner, and nearly everything of value has been sold. He has a few bits and bobs.
If you'd like to call him and ask, PM me and I'll give you his contact info. I think he still has a few not-rare accelerators, and some actually very useful IIfx SIMM doublers. So if you have some smaller SIMMs, you can double them up on each of the IIfx's RAM slots for even more RAM.

I'm astounded how that website continues to stay up. It's like Heaven's Gate but with fewer references to comets.
That's creepy. Heaven's Gate was a suicide cult.
