Thanks for the advice! I did go to the Goodwill and get some extra RAM. I'm very much a beginner when it comes to upgrading and tinkering with machines, so just the fact that I managed to get to the second RAM slot without breaking anything was amazing!
Unfortunately, the only RAM they had that I could use was PC-133 so the Lombard doesn't recognize all of it, but the addition of 256 in addition to the 64, minus whatever the mac didn't recognize left me at 192. It's definitely much faster and smoother then before. I'm going to hunt around some more and maybe I can come across a 256 PC-100 stick for cheap.
I ordered an Orinoco Gold card, and that should be here soon. After that comes I'll be able to go to the coffee shops and be even of more hipster then all the hipsters with their Macbook Pros!
