The only difference is my ROM chip has a different number than yours but pretty much every thing else looks the same. Does yours have the thin green wire on the back of it?
The chip is LC ROM 438D.
I just happen to have another ethernet card I can not use either because it has a weird connector on the end of it. So I swapped out ROM chips and it let me choose ethertalk and gave no error. I though I got it. No. Chooser is unable to see any other machine and the network is not seen.
I have thought about the idea of it being connected to a switch that is gigabit able, and the card not knowing what to do with that signal. Thought I read something about that somewhere.
