If you doubt the Ram, then test it with Ramometer for example for 24 hours.
If the height of the spare 16MB modules you have is too high to slide the logic in the frame but not higher than the available space, then you have to insert for example the left side in the frame and then pry the metal frame open to fit the right side.
Just don't forget you have to remove the logic board like this next time as if you don't, then you'll brake the Simm sockets on the logic board
Has the board been recapped ? 16MB modules consume more power than 1Mb modules so if the board isn't recapped, it's probably too much for the degraded capacitors to handle.
