Lady gift Peripherals 11 posts Jan 6, 2013 — Jan 7, 2013
A couple of days ago, i spotted an ad for Macintosh stuff to give away, i sent a mail explaining that,as a collector, i was interested.

A lady replied to me, explaining that i was 4th in the list.

I sent a mail back with thanks.

Yesterday, the lady replied, explaining that nobody came to collect the items and asking if i was still interested...of course i was.

So this morning i collected:

* Powermac G4 Quicksilver 800 Mhz, OS 10.4, two HD (115 Go each), 3 sticks of 256 Mo and Ati Radeon 9000 Pro :beige:

* Powermac 6500 /250 Mac OS 7.5 (not much to say about this one, is not really my cup of tea)

* Imation USB Super Disk

* An Airport Extreme base station

* Wireless Apple mouse

* Palm ZIRE 71

* And lot of small stuff and software. ;)

Everything tested and working great (only wireless mouse is lacking apparently a small spring, and should be hacked to work)

Also, the 17 " Apple display was also a previous gift, was happy to test it.

That quicksilver and studio display are two peas in a pod.

Very nice, love that UFO airport station.

And look... the QS has a Zip drive! :-)

Very nice, love that UFO airport station.
I am happy, i have now the set of 3 UFO stations

Ah, SuperDisks. I kept waiting for those to gain traction, but they really came in at the end of the floppy sneakernet era and Zip already had that market.

Oh man, I use to LOVE palmpilots. Nice haul!

Nice Haul! I picked up a Palm Zire 71 a few months ago, its a very nice device. The screen is very nice, I think one of the best Palm made. Nice on the macs too ! :p

I don't like the Z71 as much as the Z72 (which was the last Palm I owned and my personal favourite Palm device other than the AlphaSmart dana). The Z71 had that scary slide mechanism; I watched one of my friends open hers and the top separated and flew off, wrecking the unit. Also, the Z71 could only do photos, not video. Really, the only thing I disliked about the Z72 was that coating that peeled when you looked at it funny, but the special edition Z72 had a metal finish and solved that problem.

... well, last Palm if you don't count the Pre 2 in my collection.
