I'm not sure what a ThinkPad 600 is (except that it's a PC, obviously), but it sounds like it's somewhat old (mid 90's?).

Really? It's a series of IBM laptops that were produced from 1999 to about 2001. It was the predecessor to the T-Series Thinkpad laptops.

the HD sled is the same as found in the T2x,T3x,T4x series Thinkpads, just the cover plate is different.

Interesting. I didn't know that.
