I take the little cover off of the battery (it has two tabs on the end which you have to flex at the same time) and slide it off. Then you can place it on the powerbook to cover the hole. I don't think there is a way in those lead acid batteries.. they are completely sealed.. I have an aftermarket one I use that the cover comes off and I am currently replacing the internal "gumstick" batteries.. This battery is Ni-MH... I've got mine working great with all the caps replaced! Also threw in 8MB of ram... I had 6MB ram modules that I soldered the extra 2MB 512K chips on the open spots on the board..
