Macintosh Plus - Horizontal Line Troubleshooting 13 posts Sep 30, 2015 — Oct 7, 2015
Hello guys, it is me again. Today I got a Plus for 75 bucks and was told that it was not working. It's showing white horizontal lines. What to do? Both the analog and the logic board looks so nice and clean. I connected my ED motherboard and it actually turned out to a white screen.

what did the Dead Mac Scrolls say about this?

Dead Mac Scrolls? What is it?

Of course I have googled that! I am unable to buy because I live in Turkey and it will take lots of money and ages to arrive. Anyways I think it's because of P1. Where the heck is P1 I just can't find P1

1 - change all the caps

2 - C1 Should be changed with something heavy duty like this http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Panasonic/ECW-FD2W395K/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMv1cc3ydrPrF5m%252btQWx%252bSdKfqDEEG59TPQ%3d

3 - Desolder all the pins of J4 and J2,  Clean/scrub any joints that were burnt/cracked with solder wick and flux and liberally re-solder all the pins

4 - test it.

5 - if you still get that line then it could be this : Q4

Turkey is 220V, 50 Hz mains power, so the AB might be different than what we're used to?

Good call, but in this situation, no difference.

well it looks like according to the silkscreen on the unversal International version there.

J2 / J4 are the same

C1 is CR4

Q4 is Q3

i like how it say's (danger lethal voltages) instead of high voltages :)

Repairsman did it. Ed motherboard works but Plus motherboard gives the same horizontal error. Any help?
