Hah! great news you got it working. Also very helpful info on the Cap... have to keep that one in mind if i ever come across someone who has a failing eMate.

My power adapter is a:
Newton 9W Power Adapter
Input: 100-240V AC 0.5A 50-60Hz
Output: 7.5V DC 1.2A
Pin is positive as marked on the adapter (stupid i did not notice it before
!)
It has a screw detacheable plug (as with the newer apple duckheads)
and a nice cable coming out from the side of the adapter (love that unique look
)
