Doesn't the IIfx have mainly tantalum capacitors from the factory? I haven't looked at mine for awhile, but it seemed that there were only two of the little surface mount things, and they deal with the power on circuit. They have nothing to do whatsoever with the FPU, from what I can tell.

I guess it's worth a try, though?
