Some of you have been following my trials towards a beige holy grail machine for classic gaming. While hemming and hawing over $50 used 9200s and two in box unopened 9200s going for $100/each I found a used one for $24.99 shipped. I talked myself into buy-it-now and she was on her way.

I was not expecting it until Monday but it was in my mailbox today. In the end this card not only works perfect but also ended my no display woes in my G3MTs.

Good stuff! I'm glad to see you finally found a solution to the problem that also involved using some ducks-nuts hardware, the inverse of my current 9600 situation where only a stock video card or a busted Rage128 will work, but not the good 128 or the R7000ME. They were a fantastic card then and still what I consider to be a go-to upgrade for any G3 or early G4 era machine.

And for $25 shipped and in good time, you are laughing! :)

You better believe I am giggling over it! Cheaper than the Radeon 7Ks I am seeing and it solved a problem to get a machine up and running!

I just hope that my good fortune here does not use up all my karma. Still on that quest for a 700+MHz CPU for any one of my machines at this point. LoL

Are 9200's any better then the more common Apple 9000's?

The only Radeon 9000s I have ever seen have been AGP pulls from Quicksilver and Gigabit G4s.

There are PCI 9200 mac editions. From what I recall 9200's were budget cards for PCs so I don't think they are any faster then the stock 9000's (and the PCI edition will not support core image).
