Just found one fault I recently uncovered: The "X" key doesn't function. That will mess with my ability to program in BASIC. Any suggestions on what to do?

The usual remedy for key non-functionality is to bash on it - a lot. If the problem is poor contact within the key switch itself, that is the only non-intrusive solution. If a lot of repeated action does not clear the problem up, then it's time for some surgery.
