So, then it's conceivable that our Windstar's ECU has some bad caps in it, leading to it's occasional erratic behavior.
I checked, and a new re-manufactured ECU is $150 for this particular model, year and engine combination ('98 Limited with 3.8L V6), so I could try fixing it up, and if I goof (and I seriously hope I don't!), we only have to pay $150 for an essentially brand new replacement.
This might be a stretch for an old Mac forum, but would anybody be able or willing to help me in this endeavor?
By the way, we should probably continue this discussion in the Lounge or someplace where it's at least somewhat relevant
