Major Haul today! About 50 compact Macs

I responded to a CL listing for some compact Macs. From SE/30s to Pluses. Today I picked them up! Bonus was a couple 512ks (one regular, one enhanced). Five se/30s in total. A few Classic and Classic IIs. Many Plus and SE models.

Several have been modified in various ways, unfortunately a couple of the display mods have been hacked up (cables cut). Or the cables are in place and the board is missing. One SE has an ethernet card as well as one card in an SE/30  - those alone are nice to have on hand. I like to have all my Macs on ethernet. As for stock innards, they all appear to have floppy and hard drives in place but all disconnected.

Condition wise they are in varying degrees. Many have yellowed badly. Marking, tape residue, etc. But the many are in great condition.

The only issue of all machines is a cable cut to the CRT. These Macs were part of an art display where birds interacted with the Macs to turn the displays on and off. The cable cuts meant the display only showed a vertical or horizontal line. There are photos of the setup somewhere. Other than the Macs themselves, the hardware seems to be missing that would make it work. I can only assume power interrupts to the Macs.

I will get some pics up later.

I have more junk to get rid of, if it's not out of here by the middle of october, its goin in the trash

Shipping info: Everything would be shipped from US Zipcode 06790. Smaller items I can package myself and find the cheapest shipping option; larger items like the 6400, 5400, 7500, etc would be brought to the local UPS store so they can safely pack it for shipping because I no longer have the time or resources to devote to packing larger items like these.

If you want specific items pieced out of certain systems, i'm willing to do that for you.

Prices: make me an offer. I'm not trying to make a fortune, I'm just trying to make a couple bucks and would like to see this stuff have a chance to go to someone who wants it and can use it. I'm not expecting like fourty bucks or something ridiculous for the larger stuff, it's just not worth that anymore plus shipping will be pretty high to beginwith since they're kinda heavy.

note, these items are no longer available: Apple Personal Modem 300/1200, and either or both the IIsi and LC reference kits... I just stacked all this stuff in the garage after I got milkwarm response to it. If there';s something there you're looking for, ask and I'll go see if I've still got it.

Really? Wow. When I found out this was also an art installation, I thought of the Cali haul right away. Heck, when the Cali haul happened, I thought to myself these finds never happen here! I am not sure how many or of what model, but the seller did get rid of a few to some teens he said. Guessing less than five. But I was hoping for some other things, like powerbooks, Lisa, etc. Nope.

But for $400, I am fairly happy. Only time will tell how many got nuked by batteries or leaky caps. So far 2 of the 5 SE/30 boards have exploded batteries but not severe at all. The other three have some very minor cap damage if any.

I plan to go through all of then in the next week or so. Maybe we can sync-up on parts needed/etc. Do some trading to see if a few more can be made to work between the two hauls - if that would even be economically feasible.

gobabushka, I plan on it. For one thing I already have a few parts and many motherboards. So I am sure with this new haul there will be even more parts machines. Of this load they made up 18 units of varying models.

Inventory time:

512k (early and enhanced): 2

Mac Plus (Platinum, Beige, 1MB, etc): 10

512k upgraded to Plus 1Mb: 2

Classic: 5

Classic II: 2

SE/30: 5

SE twin 800k: 18

SE FD/HD/Superdrive: 4

By the way, the label is not the same as the production Pluses as for those 512ks upgraded. Production labels have a dark grey/black ink, just like any production 128k/512k/Plus. But the ones that are probably the upgraded kits from Apple used a dark brown ink for the FCC label. Something I just never noticed or I never owned one upgraded in this way.

I had to get something powered up. So now I can say I finally own an SE/30. Speaker is not working, so I am sure a re-cap is in order. Uniserver will have some work cut out for him soon!!

I have no doubt that some sort of parts trade will happen. We'll have SEs coming out our ears before long!

The SE/30s and 512ks are less numerous, but their numbers are still significant.

This has been a good year for compacts, that's for sure!

By the way, any chance you'd happen to have a spare 512k front bezel? The one I've chosen to refurbish for olePigeon has a bunch of unsightly cracks in it (it appears to be structurally sound, however).

Make that three... geez. I am STILL unloading my car! lol

I'll let ya know CC by weekend. If you do not hear from me, shoot me a PM. Late Saturdays I usually am home.

And late Saturdays I usually am not home ;D .

I will check in nonetheless, of course.

Thanks!

p.s. I might need other parts, like a CRT or something, so please keep that in mind as well. Thanks again!
