ha, think i found the problem with the G3 that wouldn't turn off, spent some time recapping the board, plugged it in. Bang. got a loud snap from the psu, something in it exploded...
Set the board to use a PC PSU and it seems to be running fine, looked like there where some crusty caps, but the PSU was the main problem
