IICX won't boot
I found one sitting at the recycling station at the town dump. Made a mad dash and secured it and it's Apple monitor (no cables). Anyway, I took it apart and thoroughly cleaned the thing. Scrubbed the board down per many instructions on these threads. Here's what happens:
Most of the time it won't boot. No nothing. No sound. It's like I didn't even hit the switch.
Sometimes, when it does boot, it only boots from a System 7 utility floppy. It won't recognize either of my two known good SCSI drives.
When it DOES boot, it has white vertical lines on the screen.
So is this worth saving? I imagine it's CAPS, Powersupply and/or the HighRes Video board it has in it.
If anyone has any hints or suggestions, that would be great.

What to do with it? Why, have fun of course! 
I'm really enjoying my G3 and that one should be even faster, as long as you find some more memory for it.

recap time. If you dont want to save it, list it here in the trading post and someone else will!

Yup, it sounds like it definitely needs a recap.
Power supply if it works at all is a great gin in these I have found. I would guess video card and motherboard recap as the radials on the apple branded cards I have had to recap two of them so far. Not the cans mind you, the radials.
You can use another IIcx power supply to test or one from a IIci, IIvx, Q700, C650, Q650, PM7100, IIsi (but out of the case). They all use the same connector, so if you have access to a good power supply of any of those types that might make your diagnosis easier.
The behavior described would make me suspect the four caps in the power supply start-up circuitry on the logic board. But at this age, they all need replacement.

In all seriousness, it sounds like a good machine if it can boot off a floppy. Besides the caps needing to be replaced, there is a fuse near the SCSI Port. That should be checked.
I just don't understand why Apple used those flat uses when a simple glass tubed one can be used.
Thanks everyone! I have no access to a power supply for this thing. It will remain in 'project' status for the moment.
If you have a multimeter, you can simply test the use Resistance or Continuity to test the fuses. And like the 128 - Plus, you can use the floppy port of the IICX to check the power supply voltages.
But first while you have it in "Project" Status, you can get the motherboard recapped. Also get the video card recapped, though it is only 4 caps on the video card.
