Sony 400/800k FDD Re-Lubrication Guide V1.0
Hello all,
In response to a fellow member's question about relubricating those full height Sony 400/800k floppy disk drives from early Macintoshes, I created a PDF guide which deals with the removal of the 'disk carriage assembly' so it can be ready for some deep cleaning and relubrication!

I hope this helps!

Have you also had to service the stepper motor, or the drive head? I assume the head can be cleaned with alcohol and a Q-tip, and the stepper just needs cleaning and lubricating if it grinds.

bigmessowires,
Since I have been unable get my Macintosh 128k working I haven't been able to fully test its floppy drive.
With regards to the drive head and stepper motor; they can be serviced with alcohol and white lithium grease respectively.

techknight,
I've just checked the file using Chrome, Internet Explorer and Safari and it works fine on my side of things.
Keep me updated if it does not work!
