I first encountered the Classic II in 94 when I was trying to get the other teachers at my new grown-up job to use email. Unfortunately, the CII's lack of a slot to put a network card in put it out of the race pretty quickly. I needed 10Base-T, and the best a CII could do was AppleTalk. (Even then, those SCSI-Ethernet dongles were hard to find cheap.)

I bought a few when they started coming into the recycling joints in the late 90s, because they made great small-footprint MS Word (5 or 98) stations in the junior high English room's Writing Lab. I had three or four of them AppleTalking to a LaserWriter IINT, and they were perfect speedy little word processors/HyperCard stack readers.
