You did not say what system is being used. But assuming its System 7 of some sort, you need to turn on file sharing and denote which folder is being shared. You might also have to which folder and which user as well, but this is simple to do. Then select AppleShare on the chooser on either machine and connect.

No, I did not turn file sharing on ...my oversight (also it was at 5am ...so my brain may not have been fully caffeinated).

..I plan on spending more time on this tomorrow AM,
