PowerBook 1400 Farallon ethernet OS 9 9 posts Nov 18, 2013 — Nov 28, 2013
I've been looking for a Mac OS driver for the Farallon internal ethernet card in my PowerBook 1400. All the Farallon support links are dead. The card works fine with Debian Sarge. Help, anyone?

It's an EtherMac PB 1400 card and I'm running Mac OS 9.1 both on an SanDisk PC card and on a MkLinux boot hard drive partition. Here's the user's guide for it...

It refers to a PB 1400 EN installer disk that didn't come with card when I found it on eBay.

The Farallon links don't work. This topic was discussed before:

"mcdermd" indicated that he had access to the appropriate driver. Could he make it available to me, too.

I thought I sent you a PM a few days ago.

EDIT: Turns out it was someone else. Send me a PM.

I've tried this driver (PC Card Installer 2.2) before and it doesn't recognize the Farallon internal ethernet card on my PowerBook 1400. Cameron Kaiser suggested changing the ID code with ResEdit, but I've not been able to figure out how to do that so far. I know the card works fine with Debian Sarge so it isn't a hardware problem.

All I ever had was the PC Card driver.

All the old Farallon ethernet drivers are on Proxim's website at:

The PB1400ENInstall file works fine. Thanks for the helpful comments, though.
