My son really wanted the Apple III (notwithstanding the rodent activity). The 128k, SE/30, and 840AV will also be nice additions to the collection. Little spendy, but should be fun sorting and fixing for awhile.

Nicely organised. Looks like it's from an AASP given the number of Apple Parts cartons. If you want to recoup your costs by selling extraneous items, I'm sure you could do so readily. I see at least one Mac Pro in there and they tend to be a fairly easy sell even outside the Mac enthusiast community.

Good gracious! That's a LOT of fun to go through right there! For anyone curious (who didn't already click on the link), the auction link had a lot more pictures and a PDF of what's in the lot. If I had the storage space this is the kind of mess I would get myself into.

I live about 15 minutes from where this auction happened. I tried _really hard_ not to go or bid on-line, though I did follow it on-line last night

hideehoo - I'm in Northfield, and if you decide you want to part with some of these goodies, let me know. There's stuff there I would be interested in.

Heck - even if you just want help moving or picking through the stuff, let me know. Always fun to check out other people's toys

Nice score! I love that PC-esque hacked (literally and botched too!) Q950 CD bezel. If there's an SE/30 board to spare in the lot, let me know.

Looks like you might possibly have acquired the smooth case pre-production IIc floppy drive from the other lot. Missing Apple logo and apparent smooth case sheen from the photo might point in that direction.

Wow, too bad all auctions aren't that detailed. They tested every single machine and noted weather or not it turned on, booted, or failed to boot. Pretty cool!

This is my personal nightmare scenario - an auction going for a price that I theoretically could afford, but that I know I would suffer for.

Those around me would be of the opinion that my hobby has been upgraded to a Problem.

And while I have the space to store them, there would be much grumbling about it.

However, if you are new to mac-megalomania (and I only have 20-ish), this is a great way to start.

Hi hideehoo,

If you've any high-end peripherals in that lot (like SCSI NuBus cards etc) that you maybe prepared to part with, I (and probably the rest of us) would love to know.

You could sell off probably sell off 10 of those items and re-coup your initial outgoing.

Got a little over half the haul picked up this evening. Even better than the computers is all the parts and other odd and ends this guy had. Lots of new in box mainboards (including IIe boards), analog boards, power supplies, etc. Need to head down tomorrow and grab the rest and then finish sorting. Yes, a lot of this will be sold off, I don't need this much hardware.

This will buff out right? Fortunately this is the only one I've found with battery damage so far, even though everything was stored with a battery. Bigger issue is the mice. If they was a panel cover missing, there was "rodent activity" inside.

Fortunately...

Happy day (although I may need these, haven't torn into the SE/30 and I still need a Color Classic II someday)

I found the mention in the auction description of a video card in one of the SE/30s to be intriguing. Please keep us updated on your wonderful acquisition.

It says video card but the ethernet cards had a db15 looking connection on them, or a radius external video card.

Went through most of the non-compact desktops pulling batteries. So far it looks like exploding battery syndrome has only claimed a LCIII, IIcx, and IIci mainboard. Maybe a Quadra 605, but that one still looks recoverable with a little work.
