Gotta love CRT Screen Burn
I traded my q700 to mcdermd for a SE/30, he got me good!
The SE/30 he sent me had like the worst CRT i have seen yet!
lol - (i'm just kidding, mcdermd is the man)
The rest of the SE/30 is beautiful though.
Anyways so i removed the like brand new CRT from a smashed up 128k,
Sure enough all was identical, Deflector yoke and cable / connector.
I just swapped them and, bam! Its like a brand new SE/30.

Oh boy that's a lot of burn-in. When I was retrobrighting some stuff with a UV-bulb, all of the crt's in the room lit up and you could very clearly see the burn in on some of my macs. Pretty cool.
I hope to get my first SE/30 soon... I'm bidding on a very good looking one with a 10base2/aui network card.

that's close to the burn in level my SE/30 had...
now the plus has it. |)

Honestly I think the SE/30 was such a bad to the bone machine, some of them ended up getting a serious amount of use.
could you shoot a quick picture of your screen burn?
also, your bag o goodies saved the day again.
I needed a usb cable, for the dougg3s rom simm programmer.
- anyone remember when they would charge like 19 bucks for a usb cable?
who knows maybe they still do…

I would never toss out the burned CRTs. As long as they provide emission, and produce a decent picture. Hang onto them. They obviously dont make CRTs anymore, and there are no rebuilders left. Well maybe RACS in france but even that I dont know.
