There are caps inside the duo, and an fpu with.video ram slot. Look for goo, reseat fpu and ram. The PSU in some of those could be an issue especially with a bad hard drive robbing power. Try unplugging the floppy also.

It doesn't seem to the the Dock "tick of death" that I've read about. There's no FPU or VRAM installed in the Dock logic board. I had no idea the internals of a Dock were so complicated - it's practically an entire second computer!
