You could also do this by Nishida Radio (and it's cheaper than CFFA3000 albeit, it's not the same) : Apple II emulator for DISK II SDISK II http://tulip-house.ddo.jp/DIGITAL/SDISK2/index.html

The idea of replica would be really nice. No-one ever tried this?
