I give up. Patched HD SC Setup formatted the drive to the point of verifying on the SE. Then it said it could not initialize because it could not write to disk. I think that is because of the drive size? No matter since it won't let me partition it. And if I try to test it, says it can not read. It a wonderful circle of confusion!
At this point it may be formatted. So I will try again in the Performa with the patched HD SC Setup and put just one partition on the drive under 2GB. I really feel like I am waisting my time on this one. I just don't get where the issue is. I know there is a 2GB ceiling, but if I can not partition then it does not matter.
And it did format, partition and initialize on the 5215 just fine.
If I had another SCSI drive on hand, I would be going that route.
