Ba-da-bing baby!

You won't be sorry. I love mine.

I just realized the version I bought doesn't come with a stand darn it.

Rig one.

toilet paper roll and duck tape

I should get one of these!

De soldering is such an arduous task, that this might make it simpler.

I'll look into it!

c

call up there and ask them to sell it for their lowest price :-) ask for the Cash/Contractor Discount.

Now people will expect you to get more work done faster ;)

Maybe I will buy a flash costume

PENNY, PENNY, PENNY, PENNY, PENNY.

Love that show.

Tell me how it works on multi-layer boards. The Gao-Jie is amazing on single or double sided but needs more persuasion on multi-layer.

You run into issue when one of those layers is the ground layer. I've adopted a hold-then-rotate method when dealing with those. That and using a good amount of fresh solder to tin the desoldering gun.

wow, i don't think i have ever bought one single tool that has made such an enormous difference … i love this tool!

i'm a changed man!

I hate to say "I told you so" but ... nah, I love saying it.

Keep it clean and it will serve you well.

its like going from a hatchet to a chain saw when cutting down a tree :)

used the 808 to remove and install a new Resistor network in a se/30. Man this tool makes life so much easier!

I know it is. But its still a bit expensive for me :-(

Im too cheap. LOL

Nothing like having the right tool for the job.

I like to twist this old saw around to people at work:

They say many hands make light work, but the right tool in the hands of the village idiot who know how to use it, trumps them all.

Me has jealous. :/

you are just full of useful tidbits, arn't you?

hey someone should do a wikipedia article on the hakko 808

before i bought mine, I acutely checked to see if there was a wikipedia article on it..

and no dice.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Article_wizard/Introduction

I'm no good at stuff like that… but if someone else wanted to that would be awesome… like mcdermd or someone :)

i mean it might be the best desoldering iron ever made?
