A theory: Apple wasn't selling dedicated server Macs yet in 1992. Could this have been a stripped down 950, for example, that was going to be sold to the educational market? LC had become synonymous with educational machines by that time, and this could have been a more affordable file server type Mac that schools could have bought with a hefty discount?
