It might be. If I pull the one out of the Q605 or PM6500, will that go straight into the case or at least be able to use the cable.

Also, what kind of permeant replacement drive am I looking for? A SuperDrive?

Potentially stupid question, but did you try booting the Q605 from them AFTER the failure with the Duo 210?

Yeah I tried it after the Duo's drive failed. The drive might be out of alinement like you said since it was shipped to me.
