I've had my IIe card in a Q605, and currently have it in a Color Classic.

I like it there since it's a more "contained" solution; especially if I don't need the external IIe drive, I can just fire it up and go.

It looks and runs great there, and it also works well in the Quadra, so I'd say put it where it makes the most sense to you.
