That's fixable. My 1.0GHz 17" PowerBook had the GPU melt to the heat sink, found out why it was making a terrible smell when I tore it apart.



That was not fixable.   It was a used and abused machine I'd gotten from a pawn shop for less than $50, and I got a year out of it, so while I was sad I did get my moneys worth.
