Have collected a Powerbook G4 Titanium this afternoon.
Part exchanged my Powermac G3 Beige and get the Ti Book.
The previous owner overclocked the Ti book to 500 Mhz.
The casing is not new, but not bad either (some scratches, but overall is fine)
The HD was too small (4 Gb) so i removed the old one and get a 20 Gb instead.
The Ti Book didn't let me install 10.4 and started freezing.
Managed to finish the install using my Powermac G4 (i will post pictures soon) and put the HD back.
The Ti Book started freezing again, and if the Overclocking was responsible for that ?
In the end i replaced one of the two ram sticks and the freezing is gone...posting with it right now.

Congrat Sir
!
Ti are nice machines, but troublesome… Remember having one 667Mhz long time ago.
now i have a 1Ghz, but doesn't want to wake from sleep after changing the board.
Bahh

I like the TiBooks from an aesthetic standpoint, but the AlBooks were a heck of a lot more reliable. Better silicon helped.
Congrats on the find.

Nice find, I still think they are the best looking Apple laptop to date.
One of my favs. So much so I stockpile new parts for them! lol Small obsession.
Thanks to all, the Ti Book is very nice indeed, and easy to work at...removing the HD is fast (compared with Ibooks and Powerbooks of the next generation)
The screen as a small mark on (where the keyboard is resting on it) anyone has an idea how to get rid of it ?

Think it would be dificult to remove. Don't know what kind of plastic it's made of…
Maybe by polishing ? But you take the risk of make it worse, the surface is very fragile.

Ok, thanks Gael, will leave it untouched (le mieux est l'ennemi du bien
)

Btw, I had forgotten that one, i have a dead Ti, think it's a 400Mhz. It's pretty bad shape.
Broken screen, no HD, paint off in many places… but all the screws are there, and the optical too (don't know if it's functional though).
So if you need some spare parts (or the all thing…), tell me
Cheers

Why not, if you still have the HD cradle, screws and HD ribbon i may be interested (mine is a bit loose and bits are probably missing)Btw, I had forgotten that one, i have a dead Ti, think it's a 400Mhz. It's pretty bad shape.

Ok, i will send you a PM (probably not this week, will be abroad and carless) ...thanks again.
Love the TiBook I bought one new back when I was at Uni and I still own it - I flew it to NYC with me once on my 21st birthday (now so long ago!). Cosmetically it's a bit rough around the edges but generally it's OK.
Always seem to run hot for my liking but recently I got her up and running again as I found a copy of Myst Exile collectors edition in an old cupboard someone was clearing out.
Good luck getting it running sweetly! Best looking powerbook of the series to me.
