Radius Pivot Monitor

Radius Pivot Monitor 68k 7 posts Nov 18, 2014 — Nov 25, 2014
Digging through my stash again.  Anything special needed to support the pivot functionality (driver?)

Are these desirable or common?  Considering if I may bundle with a cx or ci or fx vs selling outright.

Thanks!

I'd think they're very desirable, I'd try an outright sale if I were you.

T80 - thanks for the info.  Any idea of a viable pricepoint?  Im going to get it out and take some pics.

Pivot functionality needed a Pivot video card (one line on the video cable was triggered by a mercury switch in the monitor to tell the system to turn the screen) and the Radiusware drivers which aren't hard to find.

Supposedly there's two versions of the card for either the monochrome or color monitors but I've only ever seen color cards and nobody can confirm in any way if one card could support both so a pivot with the cable and card is VERY desireable. At least $120 before shipping.

Interesting, I'd never heard that tidbit about incompatibility, I'll have to check my Radius drawer. I know the NuBus Card amd the IIsi Cards are Color. Dunno about the LC Card, but that's kicking around here somewhere. I haven't seen the SE/30 card in some time, I got that one in a lot just for the cable. IIRC it worked fine in the IIsi, I haven't had a working SE/30 for ten years, but now I've got a fixer-upper to mangle. ;D

I asked the question several times here. I could never get pinouts for the connectors or any positive confirmation on if a DB9 to DB15 video cable existed. I was just always told "it doesn't work" without ever being shown what the actual monochrome card was, if it ever existed at all. Given that some of Radius' monitors needed a single wire to deliver video to the screen god knows how it actually works so in the meantime I keep my radius cards and pivot monitor in storage just in case the mystery is eventually solved
