I have a Mac Classic II that ticks when you turn it on. No hard drive spin up, no display, just tick tick tick tick tick....

I would guess the PSU caps go bad on these models, but how common is it for caps to go bad in these machines? What caps do I need to replace?

Are the earlier compacts less likely to have PSU cap issues?

And if the CRT circuitry capacitors need replacement? 

I've heard this happens when a flyback transformer goes bad... Perhaps a winding resistance check might be in order eh?

How would I check the resistance (like what points should I hook a multimeter to) and what should the resistance be?
