Someone told me last week that they had some old Mac stuff and wanted to know if I would take it. I said I would, no matter if it's new or old.

Today, I get this, and she said she has more!

The screen just shows a small horizontal line, so the sweep circuit might be messed up. Not bad, considering it's all free!

She owned a 512k at one point, but I don't think she has it anymore. I guess the manuals didn't change till the Plus... This should pair great with my 128k on its way.

Nice - love it when that happens. Every once in a while at work "stuff" will show up in my cube, because I'm "the 'likes old computers' guy"

Nothing beats free. If anything, a parts machine without monetary guilt.

I saw this and thought it was a giveaway.

^ Again, we think alike. hehe

I was gonna say, that manual will go nicely

Very nice!

Congrats.

Did it come with disks?

Yep, look in the third picture. It's hard to make out what they are, and they are put away ATM, so I will have to look later.

now I see haha... this is what happens when you don't wear glasses :p

that thing is in reeealy good condition.

Certainly compared to the one I picked up in a lot. I have added a new color to the spectrum: Commodore Brown

Thats bad..

Wow, to say that's yellowish would be a huge understatement! :D
But congrats on the free one, it's in very nice condition with all the manuals and stuff, plus you can't beat "free" :)
If I recall correctly there should be a couple of transistor that specifically manage the sweep circuit, one being the horizontal output transistor. They might be shot, unfortunately the dead mac scrolls only cover up to the SE/30, but you should be able to find some diagnostic help searching the threads in the compact mac forum!
