Bear in mind, this is just a concept. I haven't actually tried it. I don't know what OS Torbar is using or what hardware the other computer is. I have had better luck the other way around; having dial-up modem Internet coming into one machine and using a crossover Cat 5 ethernet network set up between both machines. THAT I know does work. Internet traffic is shared on both machines. Torbar may have to also try resorting to LocalTalk Printer Port networking as another way of linking the 2 Macs together.

One thing to note, the only time I would use modem-to-modem networking is if I just had to transfer one file at a time between machines. Be prepared for very slow file transfers if you do.

I'm not gonna jump to conclusions until I get a response back.
