How many SE/30's fit in the back of a Mazda 626? .... eleven
All the cases are very yellowed and the internals are in varying degree's of disrepair. I figure I could cobble together 5 or 6 good machines. The really good news is that two of the units have working ethernet cards. Ya! The search is over.
Also acquired:
Tons of ram and vram / hdds / useful cables
Original System 7.1 install disks
Adobe Illustrator
Anyway, we are celebrating Victoria day in this part of the world, that means friends, beer and fireworks. So long for now.

8-o That is a scary number of Macs! Anyway, whereabouts did you find that many?eleven
Sweet!
stil think the se\30 is over rated
...Why? It was pretty good when you think about it, an 030, great ram ceiling and virtually unlimited expansion possibility's.
As a cross-Channel swimmer or best-selling novelist, certainly. As a Classic compact AIO, there is none more accomplished.stil think the se\30 is over rated

Haha
If I were those SE/30s, I would run and hide until tomorrow morning.Anyway, we are celebrating Victoria day in this part of the world, that means friends, beer and fireworks. So long for now.
As for fireworks, the military had other ideas. They were firing cannons behind Queen's Park about 30 minutes ago.
Anyway, I hope that you enjoy the find. Fixing up machines is a great deal of fun.
Manage to snag any nice upgrades inside those machines?

A 626? Now, in a Miata I'd be impressed. }
Great score!
Great score!
As far as upgrades go, two of the SE/30's have Mac Con 30ie ethernet adapters. The riser cards do not have the co-processor installed but I think I have one of those chips kicking about somewhere. What would be the best use for the pass through connector on the riser? Cache? (I'm assuming it's a pass through)
Two other machines turned out to be SE's. One has a Radius Accelerator 25 and the other a SuperMac Speedcard.
I have to say that I'm very happy with this find. I've wanted a networked SE/30 on my desk for a while. Also, with a very handy Din-8 to DB-25 cable that came with the lot, I can see the SE/30 being used as a terminal to one of my Sun slabs. Maybe a terminal to a Next mono... hmm.

You do not need another FPU on the NIC. Installing one is likely to produce conflict with the 68882 that is already on the logic board, which is the very reason why there is no FPU on the NIC.As far as upgrades go, two of the SE/30's have Mac Con 30ie ethernet adapters. Got it. Thanks. You do not need another FPU on the NIC. Installing one is likely to produce conflict with the 68882 that is already on the logic board, which is the very reason why there is no FPU on the NIC.

That must mean these cards are made to fit other Mac's sans FPU's. Any thoughts on compatible models?
The IIsi is the only machine with an identical PDS slot and interchangeable cards. It has no FPU onboard.
Oh BTW.... I hate you ;-)
