So something like the 8 cores and Blu-Ray of the PS3 just don't do it for you as far as a gaming machine goes then?

Yeah...the graphics on it aren't all that much chop, but i'm not a gamer
Doesn't a decent graphics card help even just with everyday OS X though, as it's designed to take advantage of a GPU if there's a decent one fitted? Eg on my G3 all the effects like Expose, Genie etc are very fast and smooth, and I doubt that it would be as pleasant if I was using the machine's built-in video (which with 6 MB Vram I think is pretty similar to what the iMacs had). It even plays Quake III and Unreal Tournament nicely, on OS X!
