Compacts, II's, LC's and more Peripherals 21 posts Jul 5, 2007 — Jul 6, 2007
A local school was going to send all the old computers, to the recyclers. The Mac tech sent out a email looking for Mac users. I was the only one to reply.

His email said he had some LC's. Went to get them this morning. My eyes bugged out when I seen the area they were in. There were 150, Macs, PC,

Apple,C64, Vic 20.

Almost all of these were in the working pile.

I think that about covers it. Amazing dude!

You saved all those listed?

I could only get the ones listed in my small car.

Atleast you saved a IIfx

You are my hero!

Awesome. :)

It was this teachers last day, so the rest are history. The only Compact that was left behind was a Classic in the dead pile. lots of LC's, II's, and Image

writer printers.

Grabed a dozen keyboards with the telephone cables and 10 friendly net connectors.

A picture of all of it, is coming.

Damn it that some of it was smashed. Good that you got some of it though!!! I would have rented a truck and hauled it all away!

That's awesome!

Can't wait for the pictures. What kind of phone jack keyboards are they, like the 128k type keyboard? I need one of those.

Nice haul! The 2x IIgs were a lucky find.

And both Woz editions!

IIfx, IIci, both great machines! And as for that 575, try cleaning the mobo contacts and it should fire right up.

Don't just sit there, go back for more!!!!

He said all the rest has been crushed already :'(

Oh man... how many C=64s?

Bunsen

There was one C64 complete with a box of software, a Vic-20, and a PC-10 ibm clone for the Commie stuff. The two big groups were mac and ibm clones. I took 19 Macs from the Mac group and it did not look like it touched it.

All those 1.4MB superdrives crushed... bummer. Think of all the 50 pin SCSI HD's that got trashed as well. Both of those items are in short supply.

I would have gone back a second time at least or as many times as I could, although it does fill up your house pretty quickly.

He took 19 Macs in one shot, I have 20ish Macs and it took me years to build up to that level (after each purchase saying thats it).

You can't expect him to snag them all, and most were dupes anyway.

I hit 20 Macs about a month after I started collecting them.

And even if they were dupes, it is better to rescue them and pass them along to let them go to the crusher. All those spare parts are going to become very expensive one day.

I have 120+ Macs since Oct last year. Got thrown out of the house and now there in the garage. That does not include external scsi zip, cdr, hd

and a opitcal drive. The garage is filling and there will be some going. May do just portables and compacts.
