That poor G4!

That poor G4!
Well, I wouldn't say they're good for much else...I suppose you could maybe cut the top out of one to use it as a wastepaper basket, that wouldn't be a bad use for it... :p

/me upgrades your G3 to a G4 and sees what you have to say about it

/me waits 10 or so years, until your dad's job upgrades their intel macs or whatever they have, and you get one.

"I suppose you can use the mac pro plus extreme 500ghz machine(or whatever they have 10 years from now) as a footrest..."

Hehe :D They've only got G5s (20" iMacs and some towers) now, so they won't even be very good in 10 years time as Apple will have dropped support so long ago that they'll only be able to run really old OSes and software, unlike the G3 today. Can't really think what you'd want with a Mac Pro 500 GHz though - maybe if you hacked Boot Camp you could make it into a half-decent Windows 98 box? No point running OS X, giving that it would be the same as on my G3 :)

All it can ever be is a "half-decent" Windows 98 box, as there's simply no such thing as a fully-decent Windows 98 box. ;) Apart from one that no longer has 98 on it. ;)
