The drives in the Performa 6xxx series were manual-inject versions, whereas your SE/30's defective drive is an auto-inject drive.

Electrically, the auto- and manual-inject versions are compatible, so you could use the Performa's drive into the SE/30 without a problem. However, there are sometimes minor differences in the way the drives fit into the case and line up with the external hole that may require a little modification.
