Oh ant the PRAM has been dead for a long time!
Please help! I took it apart, peice by peice, and I have determined the mobo or battery must be dead! HELP ME!!!!!!!!
Try replacing the battery. A lot of machines have problems booting if it's dead.
Ok, I left ONLEY the MB and PSU and Battery, and the battery is charging. When I first checked it it was 0 volts. Now it is 1.0 volts!
I will post if anything comes up.
P.S
i noticed how easy the IIvx is to take apart! Wow! only 4 screws! ;D

No, it went back to 0 volts! Know where to get a cheep pram battery?
PRAM batteries are not chargeable... trying to do so will probably just make it explode [xx(] ]'>
Oh, so the motherboard does not charge it? Well why did they use lithium? :?:
Nope, the motherboard does not charge it at all. The reason they used lithium is because of the long life offered by lithium batteries.
There are primary, one use non-rechargeable, and secondary rechargeable batteries. There are lithium cells in both categories. Despite the appearance of USD0.01 primary lithium half-AA 3.6-V cells in eBay sales, there is more reason to applaud the recycling intention behind them than the utility of the batteries. New lithium primary cells are cheap-as-chips (about USD4) from eBay sellers such as ronaldo101, and have a life of 3-7 years, depending as the Mac is always powered from the mains or not.

I had a IIvi and it was quite a stinker. You may be able to rig something up, I know for my Quadra 840av I put two double aa's in bracket and attached it to the terminals and it worked.
The IIvx isn't one of Apple's better moments in computing history. I swapped in a Q700 motherboard into mine, but a Q650 board would be a better choice if you can find one. The IIvx is just snail slow compared to a Quadra. I'd upgrade that sucker as soon as you can.
About 6 years ago I swapped out my IIvi board for a Quadra 650 motherboard. It was a lot better, you could run OS8 and use 72 pin ram.
